Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can One Forty-Six accommodate for my event?

One Forty-Six can accommodate events with guest lists up to 275, utilizing the main halls on both our first and second floors. For parties this size, we recommend also renting the Courtyard Garden. Our second story is most comfortable with 150 seated guests or less. While we can accommodate large groups, small groups are also encouraged. Private dinner parties with as few as 10-20 guests are tailored to be both personal and intimate at     One Forty-Six.

Do you provide bar services?

We are currently in the application phase of securing an Alcohol Beverage license and carry insurance for the service of beer and wine. Upon the acceptance of our application, we will offer a curated selection of red and white wines and both domestic and imported beers. Custom options are available upon request. To ensure responsible service, we conduct identification checks and reserve the right to limit consumption to individuals who show signs of intoxication. We require one bartender per bar location and one bartender per 50 guests.  Absolutely no outside alcohol is permitted on the premises.

How do I secure my event date?

To secure your event date, we require a $500.00 security deposit along with a completed rental contract. Deposits cannot be refunded prior to the event date and do not contribute to your rental balance. The security deposit will be returned within 2 weeks following the conclusion of your event. In the event of property damage or the need for additional cleanup, we reserve the right to retain the security deposit.

Do you provide catering services?

While One Forty-Six does not provide catering services, we provide clients the flexibility to bring in a caterer of their choosing. One Forty-Six maintains intimate relationships with Greenwood's finest caterers and we are happy to assist you in your planning needs. Caterers must possess a valid business license and general liability insurance, in addition to being a licensed caterer. Caterer responsibilities extend to ensuring cleanliness in the food prep and serving areas, as well as managing trash throughout the event. If you opt to bring in your own food or if the caterer solely delivers, please note that we will arrange additional staff to handle cleaning duties throughout the event. The associated fee for this additional staff is $25.00 per hour.

Do you provide parking?

On-street parking is available along Maxwell Avenue and Oregon Avenue. The City of Greenwood parking lot is located across Maxwell Avenue, in front of One Forty-Six. Additionally, guests may park in Greenwood Development's Oregon Avenue lot, behind One Forty-Six.

When can I begin decorating for my event?

Access to One Forty-Six for decorating purposes is determined by the rental package you have selected. Custom arrangements can be made if needed.

Are there any other items of importance I should remember?

We ask that you kindly refrain from using glitter and confetti in our venue. These items are strictly prohibited.

Open flame candles must be contained in vases. Vases must be tall enough that the vase extends beyond the top of the flame.

One Forty-Six is a smoke-free facility. This includes the smoking of cigarettes, cigars, and the use of electronic smoking devices (vaping).  Smoking is allowed on the building’s exterior in the rear only. Smoking is prohibited in front of the property. Cigarette waste should be properly disposed of in the provided containers in the rear of the building. Violation of this policy will result in a $500.00 cleaning fee.

Should we be required to clean glitter, confetti, wax, or smoker's waste following your event, a $500.00 cleaning fee will be applied to your security deposit.

Was One Forty-Six formerly Sundance Gallery?

Yes, One Forty-Six originated as Sundance Gallery. In 2004, the esteemed photographer Jon O. Holloway acquired the former sewing room located in historic Uptown Greenwood. Over the next two years, Holloway embarked on a transformative renovation, giving rise to what would eventually become Sundance Gallery—a distinguished venue showcasing his internationally acclaimed photography. Subsequently, Holloway expanded the space's utility by hosting various events, most notably the highly successful music series, Music on Maxwell. Over the years, Sundance Gallery has played host to numerous gatherings, marking significant milestones in the lives of those who gathered and celebrated here.

Recognizing Holloway's masterful transformation of the space and his role in creating cherished moments, Greenwood Development, LLC acquired the property in early 2024. Our company, inheriting the legacy established by Jon two decades ago, is unwavering in its commitment to crafting enduring memories for your guests in a refined and welcoming space - One Forty-Six.
